2024 J-1 Social Security Sign-up Days
We are now accepting appointment requests for Wednesday, July 17th at the Ephraim Village Hall.
This is a REMOTE event that we have coordinated with SSA for your convenience. To make this work, every step of the Sign-up Checklist MUST BE COMPLETED before you arrive for the appointment.
Everything you need to know is clearly outlined in the Social Security Sign-up Day preparation Checklist.
FAQs
- All Sign-ups are By Appointment Only.
- The customary Waiting Period IS WAIVED for our Sign-up Day appointments.
- To qualify, the Host Employer is required to supply all of the PRINTED COPIES called for in the Sign-up Checklist.
- Anyone arriving without their completed SS-5, Sign-up Checklist, and Printed Copies may be turned away, as we do NOT have the printer capacity or required connectivity to make sets of copies.
- We had a dramatic increase in "missing cards" after the June 10th sign-up due to Incorrect Mailing Addresses entered on the OSsnap (online application) by the students. Please guide them through the online application to ensure accuracy and eliminate this stress.
Tips for Visiting the SSA office in Green Bay
If you don't have a scanner/printer or the July 17th Sign-up doesn't work for your schedule, you are encouraged to visit the SSA office in Green Bay to complete the application process in person.
Download the Office Visit Checklist to help ensure you have everything you need for a successful application.
NOTE: The Sign-up Checklist for our remote event is different than the Office Visit Checklist.
