ENROLLMENT PACKET

Watershed Schoolhouse’s approach to education emphasizes relationships. This includes relationships to place, ideas, community, self, and between children and their “teachers.” Building relationships takes time, and each adult will see any given child differently.

That being said, the information and stories you share here offer the staff at Watershed Schoolhouse a head start in learning about your child.

None of the following questions are required; some may stir more meaningful responses than others. They are a gateway to hear some of your perspective. And, questions on screens seem to encourage quick, immediate responses. The responses will be most helpful/meaningful if you can set aside some time to reflect on them. What kind of routines does your child have at home? If they are in multiple homes, please note this rhythm as well.

Have you noticed any topics/skills/activities that your child is particularly interested in?

What are some activities that you enjoy doing together with your child?

Have you noticed anything about how your child learns best? Are there any access needs that you know of that support your child?

How would you describe your child’s current relationship to “academics” (both in terms of how they are engaging with reading, writing, math, etc., and how they relate to the whole idea of school right now)?

Is there anything else you wish to share about your child?
