Hey Everyone, thanks for taking the time to check out my event page.
I would love to see you at my (free) event on Saturday 29th June:
‘Facilitated by Aekam’ - Explore the Mind, Body and Spirit through Movement, Music and Writing.
Reserve your spot(s) using the form below!

I've been interested in facilitating workshops for some time and this event is my opportunity to try it out and create a space grounded in openness and connection. I am passionate about creating a judgment-free space where people feel comfortable being their authentic selves and exploring what that means for them on a personal and spiritual level.
We’ll start off in a circle sharing a hot cacao drink, setting intentions and thinking about the space and atmosphere we would like to create together (cacao is the raw, pure form of chocolate, made from the fruit of the cacao tree – known for its grounding and heart-opening qualities). Then, we’ll journey through individual and collective movement (stretching, dancing, animal flow…), meditation, writing, and more!
I have found that movement, music and writing are tools that I can use to help strike a healthy relationship with my mind, body and spirit – and I would love to share those tools with others and explore them as a group, harnessing a feeling of internal joy and love that we can share collectively.
Before finishing off, we’ll come back to the circle to reconnect, reflect and share our feelings on the experience and how we could improve it for next time.
The space I aim to create will be welcoming of all cultures and traditions, gender identities, sizes, shapes and colours - a judgment-free space where people can express themselves freely and authentically, with a feeling of openness and connection.
The music and dance we’ll be exploring is not limited to any specific culture, it involves different genres and languages that all individuals can connect to. Movement and music are found in all cultures and transcend the false divides and barriers we put between ourselves, this event is all about grounding us in our deeper connection with ourselves and each other. The event is open to everyone, the only restriction is that participants will have to be 16+, unless this would stop you coming, under 16s are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.
Finally, I’d like to highlight the importance of choice in this space – you will be free to participate as little or as much as you want, and I’ll aim to have different stations dotted around where you can choose what activity you’d like to be present with – maybe you’ll find that the movement isn’t working for you and decide to spend time journaling/colouring instead. Throughout the event, I’ll encourage you to tune into your mind and body and prioritise your own needs, making choices that work for you.

Thank you so much for reading, I know it was a long one! Check out the video at the top of this page for more and I hope to see you at the event!
At the heart of it, I’m excited about creating an amazing space where we can connect and create a sense of community. I aim to bring my authentic self to the space, with fearless and joyous self-expression, and I’d love for you to join me!

- There’s plenty of off-road parking in the car park. The venue is 10 minutes walk from Saltaire train station through the lovely Robert's Park, with bus and rail links to both Bradford and Leeds city centres. If you need any help organising travel, please say so in the questions/concerns box at the bottom of the page and I’ll be in touch!
What to expect/bring:
- I’ll be providing (free) light snacks and hot/cold drinks (all vegetarian/vegan – likely lots of fruit), but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks or whatever you need to supplement the food provided.
- Water bottle to stay hydrated would be a good idea :)

- We’ll move connected to the ground with our bare feet or in socks (unless you have a medical condition). Dancing/moving on bare feet also strengthens your feet and ankles, increases your circulation, flexibility and dexterity.
