The Tennessee Urban Forestry Council (TUFC) is hosting its Annual Conference on November 14 and 15, 2024 in Nashville, TN. The conference is hosted in partnership with the Tennessee Division of Forestry and brings together both professionals and citizen tree stewards advancing urban & community forestry and arboriculture across Tennessee.
This year’s conference theme is Under One Canopy. Our goal is to develop a program that is representative of the many individuals, organizations, and municipalities working together to sustain forests and trees within Tennessee communities. The program will be balanced, but many sessions will emphasize collaboration, creative partnerships, and engaged stakeholders working toward common goals Under One Canopy.
We are seeking stories, practical advice, research, and case studies that highlight:
- Municipal/non-profit/private partnerships that build the capacity of a community
- Successful collaboration with adjacent departments, organizations, or professions
- Private and public practitioners applying emerging research and technical guidance published by educational institutions and laboratories
- Community engagement strategies that resulted in policy change, neighborhood engagement, or new ways of doing things
- Stories that highlight the impact of bringing more people to the table
Furthermore, all sessions will need to qualify for International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) CEU pre-approval, which will be coordinated by TUFC.

Proposals are due on June 28, 2024. Presenters accepted for the program will be notified by July 12th.
TUFC Speaker Policy: TUFC keynote speakers and longform workshop facilitators are eligible to receive an honorarium or travel reimbursement. They might reside outside of Tennessee and draw national appeal. General speakers, lightning round participants, and panelists are eligible for reduced registration rates and typically reside in Tennessee or the immediate region. Most speakers present at the conference as a way to give back and connect with peers. As a non-profit organization, TUFC has been able to keep conference attendance costs down due to the dedication and generosity of our presenters, sponsors, and exhibitors, as well as funding from the Tennessee Division of Forestry.
