  • The Board of Directors of the Central Florida Fair will award three (3) $2,000 college scholarships to the qualifying graduating high school seniors who best exemplify their support of the Central Florida Fair, their personal initiative in extra-curricular activities, and their own personal attributes that will ensure their success in the arena of higher education. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage young people to pursue a college education who might not otherwise have an opportunity. Applicants must be or have been participants in the Central Florida Fair to qualify. Official High School Transcripts must be received no later than January 31, 2026.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

     

    1. Applicant must be a high school senior who resides in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Brevard, Seminole, or Volusia County.

    2. The applicant must be or have been a participant in the Central Florida Fair. He/she may participate in judging events, exhibits, entertainment, volunteering, or any other activity of the Fair deemed sufficient by the Scholarship Committee.

    3. Children of Central Florida Fair employees or directors are not eligible.

    4. The scholarship must be used at an approved institution of higher education.

    5. The award will be presented at an official activity at the Central Florida Fair.

    6. Membership in 4-H or FFA is NOT required.

    7. The Scholarship Committee may require a personal interview with the applicant.

    8. Applicant must show that he/she has passed the FCAT exam or met all requirements for high school graduation.

    9. Applicant must upload or arrange for direct submission of three letters of reference.

    10. Scoring – The Committee will use a 100-point system, as follows:

                    a. Personal data……………………………………………....15 points

                    b. Degree of Fair participation……………………….…35 points

                    c. Essay No. 1 – “Why I would like to win this scholarship”

    (300 words or less)…...……………………………….…...20 points

                    d. Essay No. 2 – “What the Central Florida Fair means to me” or “How the Central Florida Fair has impacted my life and my future plans.” (300-500 words)………………………..30 points

                                                  TOTAL:       100 points
