ALL DISCIPLINES WELCOME!!!

FULL Hunter Pace- The Hunter Pace starts with a short Show Jump round appropriate to the level entered in the outdoor arena which acts as a warm-up.  Immediately following the round riders will head out to the back field at Sherwood Forest AND FAR HILLS FARM to begin the XC portion of their Hunter Pace.  This is a ride through the countryside over natural obstacles appropriate to the level entered.  The natural obstacles include logs / water / ditches and terrain that riders can negotiate.  Everything is optional!  This is a timed course HOWEVER, emphasis will be on good horsemanship, safe riding practices, and riding the obstacles at the appropriate pace.  The optimum time of the completion of the course will be a SECRET.  The team or rider who is closest to the optimum time is the winner!  Riders can either go SOLO or in PAIRS to ride the course.  If you would like to go as a team, just let me know on you entry.  A map will be given to riders ahead of time as well as markers to help guide you through the countryside!  Clues on the map such as "walk" or "gallop" will be there to help you come close to that optimum time!  The course is NOT designed to race or gallop through but is an educational opportunity to ride cross county.  Depending on the level, the course takes about 20-35 minutes to complete- which we can’t really tell you since that is the point to the optimum time of the course.   Coaching is allowed and encouraged!  **Riders that are jumping must wear a safety vest.  Bring a stop watch so you can time your ride.   All disciplines of riders are welcome to join us!
