Girls Rock Columbia always welcomes reliable, dedicated volunteers who support our mission. GRC Camp would simply not exist without you! We have many opportunities with varying time commitments. Some positions require musical experience, but many do not. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All positions are open to female, and trans and non-binary individuals. Our annual summer camp will be held at Columbia College from July 22-26, 2024 with our camper showcase at New Brookland Tavern on July 27th.

Girls Rock Columbia conducts background checks on all volunteers that work directly with campers. Background checks are conducted by an independent agency and include a Social Security trace, U.S. criminal search, and national sex offender registry search. All background check-related personal information is kept confidential by the agency. We recognize that background checks are a part of a larger system that surveils, criminalizes, and oppresses people, especially people of color, queer people, and people who are undocumented. Not having a social security number or having a criminal history will not automatically impact your ability to volunteer. In that case, we will contact you for further discussion.

The cost of background checks is $10/person; this year, we ask that volunteers pay for their own background checks, so that the maximum amount of our funds can go towards financial assistance for campers in need. That being said, if you are unable to pay the $10 background check fee we will cover the cost for you.
