    Welcome to Tacoma Boat Builders' Community Boating! We offer the opportunity for community members to get out on the Thea Foss Waterway for a chance to relax, have fun, and experience boating in human- and sail-powered wooden boats and canoes. No experience is necessary. You will be accompanied by two of our staff members. There is a six person maximum (if you have fewer than six people in your party, you may have other community members participate in the same session).  Please only sign up for 1 time slot to make sure this opportunity is available for others as well! More details are outlined below.
  • IMPORTANT Details about your Boating Day!

    *In the case of bad weather, we will be in touch to reschedule your boating day 1) Our address is 1120 E. D St. Tacoma, WA 98421. Parking will be at Petrich Marine Docks which is 1118 E. D St, Tacoma WA 98421 and it will be the gravel lot under the 11th Street Bridge. We do have one accessible parking spot in front of our building in place for folks with Disability Placards. 2) We will start the session by completing waivers for each participant and have a safety briefing before going out on the water. *You are welcome to print and complete the PDF waivers for you and each of your party members ahead of time using the form below. 3) Any participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 4) Physical ability: Our boats and dock do require people to squat, sit down & get up, and balance on their own, we can do our best to accommodate folks who need minimal assistance. 5) Items to bring with you: a) water! b) sunscreen c) sun protections ie. hats, sunglasses etc. d) snacks or food especially if you dietary restrictions d) bag for personal items 6) We will provide: a) life jackets, we have infant sizes to 3xl b)sunscreen c) light snacks like granola bars (if you have any dietary restrictions, we suggest you bring your own snacks)
