Freedom of Information Request Form

Freedom of Information (FOI) requests require a non-refundable application fee of $10 to be submitted with each request for non-personal information. Records such as bylaw complaint reports, or drawings of a building, are considered to be general, non-personal information records; therefore, require the application fee to be submitted with the FOI request. However, the records may still contain personal information within them, thus that personal information must be protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act).

Under section 75 of the Act, the City of Delta is permitted to charge additional fees for processing your request. The first three hours of staff time to locate and retrieve records are included within the $10 application fee. Additional time will be charged at a rate of $7.50 per ¼ hour.

Documents will be provided electronically. Should you require hard copies, copying charges are $0.25/page, and shipping will be the actual cost. You may reduce the fees payable by narrowing your request, or picking up the information rather than having it couriered. Fees (if applicable) are due upon release of information requested. You will be notified prior to work commencing on the file if additional fees beyond the $10 application fee will be applicable.

Without consent, records will be reviewed and any personal information related to another individual will be redacted from the City’s considered response.
