IHG requires a combination of dimmable and occupancy-based lighting control systems to be installed in public and back-of-house (BOH) areas in all New Development projects. Confirm compliance for the various rooms/spaces below:
Dimmable Lighting Controls:
- Entry Vestibule, Reception/Check-In, Main Lobby, Great Room/Dining areas, and Breakfast Bar (if open to Lobby/Great Room)
- Ground-floor Elevator Lobby
- Meeting Rooms
Occupancy-based Lighting Controls (utilizing ceiling or wall-mounted occupancy sensors)
- Enclosed Breakfast Bar, Public Restrooms Guest Laundry and Fitness Rooms (dim to 25% power in unoccupied mode or leave one fixture on at all times)
- Elevator Lobbies (upper levels only)
- Corridors (Recessed ceiling lights only; does not include decorative fixtures)
- Stairwells, BOH offices, BOH work areas, BOH corridors, Server / Data Rooms, Employee Break Room, Employee Restrooms, Commercial Laundry Room, and Chute Closets
- Housekeeping and General Storage Rooms
Note that for safety concerns, lighting controls should not be included in the following spaces: Mechanical/Electrical or plant rooms; Kitchens or Pantries; Indoor pool enclosures.
