Craftsman Cares Application

This unique program provides “one big break” to individuals or families in need of auto repair or transportation. We understand how impactful a “break” can be, our business wouldn’t be here without the one that helped us get started back in 1998.

To be considered for this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Local to Northern Virginia – This program is exclusively for individuals who can bring their vehicle to one of our seven Craftsman Auto Care locations (Alexandria, Ashburn, Chantilly, Fairfax, McLean, Merrifield, or Sterling). We do not provide financial assistance for repairs performed at other shops.
Facing Temporary Hardship – Ideal candidates are those experiencing a short-term financial challenge and need reliable transportation or minor car repairs to get back on track.
Have a Sponsor – Each application must be submitted with the support of a sponsor from an organization (e.g., a church, school system, employer, or charitable group).
Verified Sponsor Involvement – Craftsman Auto Care will confirm the sponsor’s participation upon submission.
Awarded Based on Need & Resources – Submissions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are granted based on the available resources at the time.

Important Note:
There is no monetary value assigned to this program. No applicant is given a set budget, and assistance is not guaranteed. All repair work must be performed in one of our shops - we cannot provide funds or compensation for work completed elsewhere.

How the Program Works:

We work through a waitlist and review applications in the order they’re received.
Vehicles must be drivable. We’re unable to accept towed-in vehicles. If we’re not able to move forward with repairs, the car must be able to leave the lot under its own power.
We focus on safety-related repairs. This allows us to help more people by addressing the most critical needs first.
Approval for an inspection does not guarantee any repairs. After the inspection is complete, the results will be reviewed by our team to determine whether we can move forward with assistance based on need and the resources available at that time.

Following a comprehensive inspection of the candidate’s vehicle, Craftsman Auto Care will determine whether any assistance can be offered based on the condition of the vehicle and the resources we have available at the time. If it is determined that we are able to help, the candidate may be awarded safety-related repairs or maintenance services at our discretion.
