Important (Juniors and Parents, please read)

We are committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone at the Canadian National Junior Heifer Show. To ensure this, we have a strict no-tolerance policy for alcohol consumption by minors. This policy is in place to protect all participants and maintain a positive atmosphere. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we strive to make this event fun and safe for everyone. Thank you for helping us uphold these standards.

Why No Adult Participation?
Welcome to the Canadian Junior Nationals! For 38 years, we've been leading the way by creating programs for youth involved in the Canadian cattle industry. Our mission is to nurture the next generation of cattlemen and women, ensuring they carry on the legacy of our incredible Canadian beef industry. We also want to help them build strong networks for their future.
Our junior programs are designed for ages 10-21, providing a space for learning and interacting with peers. To maintain this environment, we ask adults to step back and let the youth take the lead during the event. In our years of experience, we have confidently witnessed youth thriving and doing well on their own.  However, if your young participant needs support for any reason at all, we've got you covered. Just indicate on your entry form that your junior needs extra support, and we’ll pair them with a mentor! This policy will be strictly enforced for the 2024 year. Failure to comply will result in an initial warning.  A second incident will move the animal to the Open Show for this event.  Continued disregard for the rule will lead to disqualification for the 2025 show.  The only exception to this rule is one of safety – if an incident occurs that threatens the safety of your child or any participant, adults may step in to help.  We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all adults in adhering to this guideline, helping us create a fun and memorable event for everyone.
Attention Cow Camp Parents: The no-adult participation rule applies to all cow camp-aged children. If your child needs assistance, you have two options. You can either bring an older junior to help them, or we can match them with a mentor. Please note, mentors will be helping more than one child, so if your child needs full-time assistance, it’s best to bring an older junior with you. Otherwise, let us know on the entry form that your child would like a mentor.

Show Rules and Classes:

1.      Entry Fee - Registration Fee - $ 80 per person until August 13th, plus class entry fees of $ 50 per class prior to August 13th -

2.      Camping (no power) - $ 10 per night, Camping (with power) - $ 20 per night.  Pay camping fees either when you enter the show online or when you register at the show.  Power for camping will only be available when not in use for grooming livestock. 

3.      Show is open to Juniors (Born in the years 2002 - 2015) worldwide. 

4.      Animals entered in the PeeWee (Classes 1 - 5) and Junior Classes (Classes 11 – 23), must be owned by juniors or their immediate family. Entries in the Bred and Owned classes must be owned by the junior exhibitor.  Entries in Open Classes (Classes 6 - 10) may be owned by anyone. Entries in classes 6 - 10 are not eligible for the Grand Championship Class or the UFA Youth Supreme Quest.   

5.      Tattoos must be legible.

6.      The Show Committee and or its members are not responsible for accident or loss.

7.      Adult participation is forbidden and will be enforced.  You are welcome to bring another junior (born in the years 2002 - 2015) to help with you.

8.      Cattle may only be shown in one class.  If an animal is eligible for more than one class, please enter it in the class you prefer to show in.

9.   All livestock must be in the barns by 8:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024.

10.   No animals with ringworm will be allowed on the grounds.

11.   All participants will receive a keepsake article.  NO PRIZE MONEY WILL BE PAID
