  • PLEASE NOTE: Although you will be climbing in an artificial bouldering environment, the risks involved are no less serious than when climbing outside at a crag or mountain.

THE SOFT FLOORING/MATTING DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR SAFETY.

Uncontrolled falls are likely to result in injuries to yourself or others. Climbing beyond your capabilities on any wall is likely to result in a fall. Any fall may result in an injury despite the safety systems in place to avoid it.

Do not jump down from the wall, always climb down when possible.

There is a risk that bolt-on holds may spin or break. If this happens, please immediately inform a member of staff.

Do not attempt to 'spot' someone unless given direct consent from an instructor.

The training aids are designed for use by experienced climbers and should not be used by under 18 years old, unless under guidance from an instructor.

Bouldering is a physically demanding activity and you should warm up before the session and cool down at the end, as you would for any high intensity excercise such as sprinting.

You must always follow the rules of Kent and Sussex Climbing and the climbing centre and make your own assessment of the risks whenever you climb.

  • Kent and Sussex Climbing shall not be liable for any damages or compensation in respect of any injury or loss sustained by the Participant, except to the extent that the injury or loss results from any act or default of Kent and Sussex Climbing, their servants or agents.

    Declaration & Participant Statement

Declaration of fitness: I certify that to the best of my knowledge, the Participants do not suffer from any medical conditions that might have the effect of making it more likely that they will be involved in an accident, which could result in injury to others or the participant.

Declaration of fact: I confirm the above information is correct and if any information changes, I will notify Kent and Sussex Climbing.

Exclusion of liability: I understand that climbing is a dangerous activity and that therefore, Kent and Sussex Climbing's exclusion of liability, as set out above, is reasonable, and I accept it.

    Climbing Participation Statement

“The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.”

BY SIGNING BELOW, I CONFIRM I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE ABOVE PARTICIPATION STATEMENT (ON BEHALF OF MYSELF AND ANY MINORS FOR WHOM I AM RESPONSIBLE). I UNDERSTAND THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST ABIDE BY THE COMMANDS GIVEN BY ANY KENT AND SUSSEX CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR, AND THAT FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM THE COURSE WITHOUT REFUND.
