  • Personal Information, Resume & References

    • A one-page resume and a headshot must be submitted with this application. Letters of recommendation are encouraged but not required. 

    Commitment 

    • Participants must attend the orientation, retreat, all program days, and the graduation ceremony in order to complete the program. Attendance is required for all program days in their entirety unless prior approval is granted by the board for individual absences. To successfully complete the program, participants will have an opportunity to make up missed days the following year. You are also required to submit all program day surveys and actively participate in a community impact project, which will require meetings beyond the monthly program sessions. Upon acceptance, your employer will be asked to sign a form acknowledging these conditions. Upon acceptance, you will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement.

    Standards of Professional Behavior 

    • Participants are expected to exhibit professional behavior at all times and to abide by all program rules, including dress standards and restriction of cell phone and social media use during events.

    Tuition

    • Tuition per participant is $900 for Chamber Members and $1,200 for non-Chamber Members. The tuition covers all program costs including lodging at the retreat and the Frankfort overnight trip, transportation, class shirt & name tag, and meals. (If you are not willing to share a room during the retreat or the Frankfort trip, you must advise staff in advance and you will be held responsible for the full cost of your single room.)
    • Upon acceptance, tuition payment is due in full by Sept. 10, 2024. Credit card payments are accepted. Make checks payable to Leadership Hopkins County. 
    • Scholarships forms are available by request.

  • Leadership Class Activities

  • Orientation: Sept. 10 | 11 p.m. - 2 p.m. | MCC Steve Beshear- Racer Room
    Meet & greet with program overview. Lunch provided.

     

    Retreat: Sept. 19 & 20 | Owensboro, KY
    Two full days of inspiration and motivation, facilitated by Leadership Hopkins County and featuring presentations by local leaders. Do not apply for the program if you cannot attend the retreat in its entirety (approximately 7 a.m. Thursday-5 p.m. Friday).

     

    Program Days: Oct.- May at various locations**

    One program day per month. Sessions run from approximately 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; some may begin as early as 7 a.m. Plan childcare and work arrangements in advance in order to meet attendance requirements.

    • March 18- Coal Mining 
    • April 8- Education
    • May 13- Agriculture

     

    Community Impact Projects
    Your class will work together or in teams during the year (September-May) to plan and complete one or more projects for the community’s benefit. Project(s) must be approved by Leadership Hopkins County. Successful execution of the project(s) requires time above and beyond regularly scheduled class activities.

     

    Graduation: May 15 | Time & Location– TBD
    Time to celebrate the accomplishments of your class! You will receive your plaque (or, if you have days to make up, a certificate). A representative of your sponsor business is encouraged to attend.
