Why should you be accepted into the Junior Citizen Police Academy?*

The Junior Citizen Police Academy will be held at the Fruita Police Department. Cadets may participate in field trips depending on class topics and will be responsible for their own transportation to the location(s Cadets will be expected to adhere to a strict Code of Conduct and failure to comply may be cause for removal from the program.

During the course of this program, it is likely news media will be covering the academy. It is possible participants may be photographed or asked to be interviewed. It is also probable that pictures or video will be posted onto social media.

Junior Citizen’s Police Academy - Code of Conduct

All students will abide by the following Code of Conduct while attending the Fruita Police Department’s Junior Citizen Police Academy. These rules are in place to provide a safe learning environment for all students.

No obscene, vulgar or profane language will be tolerated.
Students will respect each other and instructional staff at all times.
There will be no use or possession of tobacco products, alcohol or drugs on police department property.
No horseplay is allowed.
Students are expected to be on time for class.
Any student missing more than two sessions will not receive a graduation certificate at the end of the course.
Students will follow directions by the instructing staff at all times.
Negative or disruptive behavior will be cause for immediate removal from the program.
