If you have any convictions, you must declare them as part of the entry requirements to the Cook Islands. Cook Islands Immigration may grant an exemption for travel.

Additionally, an amendment to our laws prohibits certain individuals, particularly those affiliated with gangs, from traveling to and entering the Cook Islands.

Immigration Cook Islands will review cases with external agencies, and failure to declare convictions could affect your future travel.

The New Zealand Clean Slate Act does not apply to international travel. New Zealand citizens whose conviction history is affected by this act are still required to declare their convictions.

To apply for an exemption please complete the following form.

All visitors to the Cook Islands are required to have a passport that is valid for 6 months or more beyond their intended departure date from the Cook Islands. The recommendation from this office is to renew your passport before your intended travel.

If you are unable to renew your passport, you can apply for an exemption to travel to the Cook Islands by completing the following form.
