Union County Fair Open Art Competitions

The Union County Fair is partnering with the Marysville Art League to offer open art competitions in 26 categories. There is a $5.00 fee per entry, and an artist may enter as many categories as they like but only enter one artwork per category. An artwork may not be entered in more than one category. Each category will have three age groups within which to compete. Entrants are excepted from Union and surrounding counties. We are looking forward to seeing the creativity our region has to offer. Each artist will receive one free day pass to the fair. Please read the Entry Rules and fill out the application to participate.

Entry Rules

* Must be in one of the following age groups: 1. Adults: 18 and up; 2. Youth/Teens: Ages 12 to 17; 3. Youth: Ages 6 to 11.

* Only one entry in each class by exhibitor.

* You must complete the online form for each entry.

*Each entry is $5.00 and can be paid online.

* Ribbons are Awarded to the top 3 in each category.

* Entries must be delivered to the Merchants Building on Saturday, July 20th, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

* Entries will be judged by a three-panel judge on Sunday, July 21, at 6 p.m., and ribbons will be placed. Artists do not need to be there for the judging; winners will be posted on this website for each age group and category.

* Entries must be picked on Sunday, July 28, between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

* Paintings must be framed with a sturdy hanger or stretched canvas.

* Wet paint is not allowed.

* Watercolor, ink, and pencil drawings must be under glass and have a hanger.

*No paint-by-number paintings are permitted.

* Paintings on wood, tile, slate, and metal need not be framed but must have a sturdy hanger.

* No nudes.

* Make sure your name is on the art.

One Free Day Pass to the fair will be issued to each artist!
