DISCLAIMER
*Please keep in mind that we are looking for permanent, lifelong homes for the animals that are adopted. Typically, horses that are cared for well can live to be 30 years of age.
*If there are multiple applicants for a specific horse, adoptions will be based on the “best fit” home for the horse and its needs. Golden West Rescue reserves the right to disapprove any applicant for any reason, and we are not obligated to share those reasons. After we have reviewed the adoption application, we will contact you to set up a time for you to meet the horse you are interested in.
*After meeting the horse(s), and you wish to proceed with the adoption of the horse, and Golden West Rescue also feels that you are a good match for the horse in question, we will proceed with a site visit and reference checks if we deem is necessary.
*Upon approval of your application, you will be required to sign and return an adoption contract, along with applicable adoption fee(s), the adoption fees are considered a donation and are non-refundable, you will be responsible to arrange transport of your horse to their new home.
*Please be aware that until you have signed the adoption contract, paid the adoption fee, and transported the horse to your facility, the horse will still be considered available for adoption. We will continue to accept applications for that horse up until the point that the adoption is complete. We do not “hold” horses, even for applications in process, and we do not work on a first-come, first-served basis. In the case of multiple applicants, we will choose the adopter we feel is best suited for the horse.
* NO animals adopted from Golden West Rescue or its entities will be resold or rehomed without our approval. Keep in mind that a lot of these horses have been neglected, abused, abandoned and thru trauma. We are very protective of their well being and will stop at no costs to ensure they are in the best hands. *
