The goal of Localogy is to provide a learning experience for children that promotes personal growth and self-confidence through work, adventure and challenge. Exploring the world and mastering new skills with due caution and concern for safety, are rewarding aspects of the child's experience, along with the enjoyment and self-esteem gained by their accomplishments. It is important, however, for parent(s) to know that even with the best of intentions, practices, and judgment, one cannot totally eliminate the possibility of accidental injury to those participating in Localogy activities such as: working with livestock and farming equipment, tool use, physical labor, mountain hiking, camping, swimming in ponds and rivers, swift-water floats, general recreation, sports, motor vehicle travel, and social interactions. Please be aware: the possibility of sickness, accidental injury, even death, is inherent in some activities included in Localogy programs. All risks, both known and unforeseen, must be weighed against the value of the Localogy experience to the child, and these risks must be willingly accepted by you the parent(s) if you want your child to participate in Localogy programs.
