The ACOFP Osteopathic Family Physician of the Year Award is presented to a member who exemplifies what the ACOFP believes an osteopathic family physician should be. The award honors physicians who have made outstanding contributions to the osteopathic profession and local communities, while being a role model to peers and students.
Award qualifications include:
- Must be an active ACOFP member in good standing.
- Must be currently certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS).
- Must have no current restrictions on any medical licenses at the time of application.
Award requirements include:
- Submission of one letter of support from the nominator that speaks to the nominee’s outstanding contributions, leadership, and influence as a role model in osteopathic family medicine.
- Submission of one letter from the nominee’s ACOFP affiliate society that reflects the nominee’s service to their local community and the profession. If an affiliate society is not available, a letter from a national leader within osteopathic family medicine may be submitted instead.
