Petition Against Cobra-Style Lights in Craneridge
  • To the Town of Concord Board of Directors:

We, the undersigned residents of the Craneridge Association, strongly oppose the installation of cobra-style lights in our community. While we appreciate the Town Board's efforts to improve our neighborhood's lighting, we believe cobra-style lights are an unsuitable choice for several reasons:

    • Aesthetics: These lights are out of place in our unique neighborhood setting, clash with the architectural character of our neighborhood and detract from its overall charm.
    • Light Pollution: Cobra-style lights can cast excessive glare and light pollution, disrupting the natural night sky and impacting wildlife.
    • Alternatives: We believe there may be other cost-effective lighting options that offer similar benefits without the negative aesthetic and environmental impacts, such as the demonstration LED lights that have been installed near our meadow.

We urge the Town Board to work with the Craneridge Lighting Committee explore alternative lighting solutions that:

    • Are more aesthetically pleasing and complement the architectural style of our neighborhood.
    • Minimize light pollution and glare, protecting the night sky and wildlife.
    • Offer suitable levels of illumination for safety purposes.

Please sign & submit below to show your opposition to Cobra-style lights and your support for exploring alternative lighting solutions.

So that we may properly compile the Petition responses in time for the Town of Concord Board Meeting on July 11th, please make sure you submit your declaration on/before Friday, July 5th.  For Questions, please contact:  Cory Bowen or Sam Lewandowski
