This agreement pertains to activities hosted at Little Oak Ranch ("LOR"). By signing this document, participants and, if applicable, the parents or legal guardians of minor participants, agree to the terms regarding their participation in various outdoor activities held in an outdoor environment. It is crucial to read and understand every part of this document before signing.
General Outdoor and Environmental Risks
Participants may encounter various natural risks associated with being in an outdoor environment, including but not limited to:
Insect and Wildlife Encounters: Risk of bites or stings from mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, or other insects, which may lead to skin irritation or allergic reactions. Potential risks of encountering native wildlife such as snakes, birds, or larger animals, which could result in scratches, bites, or other injuries.
Domestic Animals: Interaction with domestic animals may pose risks of scratches or bites. Participants are advised to approach all animals under supervision and only as directed by LOR staff.
Environmental Hazards: Risks of tripping, falling, or sustaining minor cuts from natural terrain features. Allergic reactions to plants or other natural substances are also possible.
Pond Safety and Interaction Disclaimer
Pond Area Guidelines: The pond at Little Oak Ranch is a natural habitat and part of our permaculture garden. Participants are prohibited from swimming, wading, or entering the pond water. Throwing stones, sticks, or any other objects into the pond is strictly forbidden. Interacting with, capturing, or attempting to remove animals from the pond is not allowed.
Adult Supervision Requirement for Minors Under 16: Adults accompanying minors under 16 years of age must ensure strict adherence to all pond safety guidelines. It is the explicit responsibility of each accompanying adult—whether parent, guardian, or designated caregiver—to closely supervise their children at all times while on the premises. This supervision is crucial to prevent any unauthorized interactions with the pond and ensure the safety of the minors.
Food and Plant Consumption Disclaimer
Consumption of Plants and Food Items: LOR does not recommend that participants pick or consume any plants or plant life found on the premises without explicit permission. Participants agree not to hold LOR or any of their staff liable for any adverse reactions or illnesses resulting from the consumption of plants or food items from the garden.
Agreement Terms
Understanding of Risks and Release from Liability: Participants recognize and accept the risks associated with the activities and the outdoor environment at LOR. They agree not to hold LOR or any of its staff liable for any injuries, emotional distress, or other damages that may occur.
Emergency Medical Treatment: In an emergency, participants allow LOR to arrange for medical treatment and understand that they will be responsible for any associated costs.
Indemnification: Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless LOR and their representatives from any claims resulting from their participation in these activities.
Photo and Video Consent
Consent to Capture and Use of Images and Recordings: By participating in activities at Little Oak Ranch, participants grant LOR the right to capture photographs, video, and audio recordings during events and activities. Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify a staff member upon arrival.
