Civics and citizenship in a contemporary society - Friday 16 August, 9am-3pm
Civics and citizenship teachers from across the Victorian education sector are invited to an in-person conference at Parliament House.The focus of this conference is the implementation of the new Victorian Curriculum Civics and Citizenship, taking into account contemporary issues, understandings of civic processes, identity and diversity. Through a series of workshops and presentations, participants will consider the necessary skills students will need to engage in civics and citizenship, and how to develop this knowledge and embed these skills in the classroom. Suitable for new and experienced teachers of civics and citizenship.
