Parade Float Participant Rules and Guidelines
Eligibility: a. Any individual, organization, or group can participate in the parade float. b. Participants must adhere to local laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding parade participation.
Theme Compliance: a. Floats should reflect creativity, originality, and be visually appealing.
Safety: a. Floats must be structurally sound, stable, and pose no safety risks to participants or spectators. b. All participants must remain securely on the float, or near their float it handing out candy or interacting with attendees, during the parade and not engage in any unsafe or hazardous activities. c. Any potentially dangerous objects or substances are strictly prohibited.
Size and Dimensions: a. Floats must meet the specified size and height requirements communicated by the event organizers. b. Floats should not exceed the maximum length, width, or height limitations set by the organizers. c. Overhead decorations should maintain a safe clearance from street signs, trees, power lines, and other structures.
Decorations and Signage: a. Decorations should be securely attached to the float to prevent detachment during the parade. b. Any signage or banners displayed on the float should be appropriate, non-offensive, and aligned with the event's values. c. Use of copyrighted or trademarked material without proper authorization is strictly prohibited.
Music and Sound: a. Floats may feature music, sound effects, or amplification systems, but the volume should be controlled and not disrupt nearby floats or spectators. b. Use of profanity or offensive content in the audio systems is strictly prohibited.
Participants' Conduct: a. All participants on the float must behave respectfully and responsibly throughout the parade. b. Throwing objects other than candy or promotional items, harassment, or any other inappropriate behavior towards spectators or other participants is strictly prohibited. c. Consumption of alcohol or illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
Lineup and Timing: a. Floats must be in the designated lineup area at the specified time communicated by the organizers.
Insurance and Liability: a. Participants are responsible for their own liability insurance coverage for any damages, injuries, or accidents caused by their float or participation. b. Event organizers may require participants to provide proof of insurance coverage prior to the parade.
Compliance with Instructions: a. Participants must follow all instructions and guidelines provided by the parade marshals or event organizers during the parade. b. Failure to comply with instructions or any violation of the rules may result in removal from the parade.
