  • TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

  • 1. The Adlestrop Club is a racing club run by racehorse trainer, Richard Phillips of Phillips Racing Ltd.

    2. Membership of the Club requires a monthly fixed cost payment by standing order of £35 for individuals or £50 for couples. Annual payments are also an option at £400 per year for single membership or £600 for couples. Payments are made to The Adlestrop Club Weatherbys account.

    3.Adlestrop Club membership is for a minimum of 12 months, with rolling payments thereafter. Club membership can be cancelled after this time by giving 30 days notice in writing. The transfer, or lease of membership to another person is not permitted.

    4. In foreseen circumstances, Club membership may be terminated early at the discretion of Richard Phillips. Annual payments will not be refunded should the full year not be complete.

    5. Any horse that runs in The Adlestrop Club name, is leased to the Club and not owned by the Club or it's members. Therefore Club members do not hold any ownership rights of the Club horses.

    6. The horse currently leased to the Adlestrop Club is LIZZIE REY.

    7. All horses leased to the Adlestrop Club will be trained by Richard Phillips.

    8. Subscription fees include the keep fees of one racehorse and regular social events. Guests are usually welcome at social events for a fee, which varies depending on the event.

    9. Members take part in the social events entirely at their own risk.

    10. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they may be a period of time when there is no horse leased to the Adlestrop Club. Richard Phillips will do his utmost to ensure if this happens, it is for the least possible time while a new horse is sourced.

    11. Administration of the Club and day-to-day management will be the responsibility of Richard Phillips.

    12. A Weatherbys bank account for the Club is active. All payments from members will also be paid into this account. The bank account details are:

  • 13. Any prize money won by the Club horse will be credited to and expenses debited from, the said account on a continuing basis. Prizemoney is not distributed to Club members.

    14. The name used in race cards, etc. will be The Adlestrop Club and the horses will race in the colours "dark green, beige stripe."

    15. The horse will be 'sponsored' through our stable agreement with TORI Global. At the racecourse, TORI logos will be displayed on racing colours, paddock sheets and on the handler's clothing.

    16. Every Adlestrop Club member will receive one complimentary entrance badge every time a Club horse runs if attending the races. This is not transferrable. Additional badges may be available at a discounted price for guests, depending on racecourse availability. Please note, that 'owners and trainers' entrance badges are not guaranteed.

    17. The horse WILL NOT be insured by the Club.

    18. Decisions relating to the training and welfare of the horse will be made by Richard Phillips. Should a decision be made to retire the horse from racing, this shall clearly be relayed to members before the horse is retired. The horse will remain under the care of Richard Phillips until such time a suitable retirement home is found. All potential re-homers are found via recommendation and with good references with the agreement that should they no longer be able to care for the horse, it will be returned to the care of Richard Phillips.

    19. Club members accept and are aware that the purpose of this Club is for enjoyment and not for financial return.

    20. By joining The Adlestrop Club and agreeing to these terms, members consent to be contacted by email by Phillips Racing Ltd. Personal information is collected and stored in line with GDPR and the privacy policy for Phillips Racing Ltd is available by request or on our website.

    21. In the case of a dispute between the Racing Club Manager (Richard Phillips) and a Club member, any complaint should be made formally in writing, requesting a response within 21 days. There will be scrutiny of the complaint against the contract and if necessary independent advice will be sought.
