Summary/Overview
Write a description of the proposed publication (length 1-2 pages). Provide a sample chapter if written, or outline proposed format/structure in terms of chapter themes. List proposed Table of Contents if available. If you prefer you may send any word/pdf documents to publications@ria.ie
Audience
Is the book intended for an academic/specialist readership only, or might it be of interest to a broader public?
Illustration details
Specify the number of images envisaged for inclusion, what type (photographs, documents, etchings, etc.), and whether colour or black and white
Copyright details
Should items to be included in the publication be under copyright, please indicate which bodies own copyright. (Authors are generally expected to source and clear copyright for any material they intend to reproduce within their publication.)
Costs
Indicate whether there will be any copyright costs or other costs that cannot be covered before submission.
Selling points
List any unique/important points about the publication, or why you think it would appeal to the public. Can it coincide with the anniversary of (or some other way of marking/celebrating) any particular event (allowing sufficient time for scheduling and production)? Does it relate to a specific individual or period of interest, etc.?
Comparable/competing titles: Are there any that you are aware of?
Possible sources of funding/opportunities for collaboration
Please indicate whether any funding/sponsorship might be available (from a research organisation, university department, government agency, other funding body) to help defray some of the production costs (printing, typesetting, etc.)
