  • Since 1977, the Renal Healthcare Association has supported independent and community-based dialysis providers to build a stronger community. The Renal Healthcare Association fulfills its mission through education, advocacy, and services that support excellence in renal healthcare. 

    Every one of our members plays a crucial role in the success of our organization. By joining a Committee, you have the opportunity to:

    • Take ownership of the Renal Healthcare Association's Strategic Plan and actively contribute to organizational objectives
    • Stay engaged with the renal health community and seek out the expertise, advice, and insight of experts nationwide
    • Create an atmosphere that promotes constructive and open-minded dialogue
    • Qualify to run on the Board after one year of service as a Committee member (Primary Representatives of Active Member Companies only)

     

    Statement on RHA Volunteering and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

    Diversity refers to a range of differences. This includes factors such as life experiences, gender; race; ethnicity; academic/ professional background; sexual orientation; age; disability status; or geographic location.

    Equity refers to fairness and justice. It recognizes that not everyone starts at the same place and adjustments are needed to fix the imbalance.

    Inclusion is inviting and encouraging individuals in a consistent and open approach.

    RHA is committed to serving all those in our industries.

    When it comes to volunteering in our industry, RHA is dedicated to bettering our diversity, equity, and inclusion.  It looks to embrace varied perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. RHA desires to remove barriers that prevent individuals from participating.

    RHA is looking to hear multiple viewpoints, provide opportunities to professionals in the industry, and find innovative solutions to better the industry for patients and providers. RHA needs volunteers from the whole team.

  • All RHA Committees have the purpose of supporting and implementing the organization's strategic mission, vision, goals, and plans as it relate to their specific endeavors set by the RHA Board of Directors.

    Advocacy:

    Advocacy volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in “serving as the voice for independent providers through strategic federal policy engagement at all levels”.

    Key Advocacy Focuses:

    • The ongoing advocacy engagement with members
    • Orals in the Bundle
    • Reimbursement
    • Conditions for Coverage
    • Wage Index
    • What the government can do for our small rural providers

    Quality:

    Quality volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in helping “lead a comprehensive curriculum for dialysis professionals through various channels”.

    Key Educational Focuses:

    • QAPI
    • ESRD
    • QIP 

    Education:

    Education volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in helping “lead a comprehensive education curriculum for dialysis professionals through various channels”.

    Key Educational Focuses:

    • Education program planning for the annual conference and spring meeting
    • Educational opportunities for the various professions on the dialysis team
    • Education product development
    • Education accreditation 

    Home Therapies:

    Home Therapies volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in helping “lead a comprehensive curriculum for dialysis professionals through various channels”.

    Key Educational Focuses:

    • Home Therapies Decision Tree
    • Regulatory
    • Legislative

    Membership:

    Membership volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in “promoting a diverse and inclusive membership by growing, expanding, and strengthening engagement”, while also “monitoring and sharing industry innovations and exploring potential partnerships and resources for members”.

    Key Membership Focuses:

    • Engaging with members and the industry on various social platforms
    • Membership and industry growth
    • Data analysis
    • Website and member platform review

    Medicare Advantage (MA):

    MA volunteer groups fulfill a vital role in “staying alert to the changes and impact Medicare Advantage plans have on our ability for patient care and providing resources to members”.

    Key Innovation Focuses:

    • MA RFI letters and other advocacy MA related actions
    • Creation of member education and resources
    • Develop a strategy for patients to assist with MA pain points
  • Volunteer commitment is estimated at 3-7 hours a month with some groups holding meetings every other week and others holding meetings every other month, depending on their scope of work. Meeting schedules will be determined once committee rosters are finalized based on the group's availability.
