Shine Like a Star Inclusive Goat Show

Join us for the Shine like a Star Inclusive Goat Show at the 2025 Stephenson County Fair Fair! Participants will have the opportunity to experience showing a goat.

WHO: Youth with a disability between 8-21 years of age. Each participant will be paired with two youth mentors and a goat.

WHEN: Thursday, July 24, 4pm

Arrival: 2:45 pm Check In, Receive T-Shirt, Tour Dairy Goat Show Ring

Timeline:

3:15 pm Mentors, Goat and Participant Meet & Greet

3:50 pm Group Picture (All participants and mentors)

4:00 pm Shine like a Star Inclusive Goat Show

WHERE: Stephenson County Fair Dairy Goat Barn (Showring)
The showring, located in the center of the Dairy Goat Show Ring. The judge will assess how the mentors, participant and goat work together as a cohesive unit. There are benches surrounding the show ring for spectators to viewing.

COST: $10 per participant (waived by a sponsor). The $10 fee includes three (3)Stephenson County Fair general admission tickets (free parking), a t-shirt and an award ribbon. The tshirt, and award ribbon will be provided at the Fair. Fair admission tickets and additional
event details will be mailed out prior to the Fair or picked up at the fair office. This event is limited to the first 20 paid participants.

SHOW ATTIRE: Closed toe shoes, long pants, and Shine like a Star Inclusive Goat Show t-shirt provided upon arrival at Fair.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Received in the office by July 12, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: There are a variety of activities, lights and sounds at Stephenson County Fair and in the Dairy Goat Barn. Please bring any calming or auditory devices necessary to enhance this opportunity for your participant. Parents and/or guests are encouraged to watch the show from the benches but will not be allowed in the show ring during the show.
