Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program
Thank you for your interest in AMTA’s Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program. Through this project, AMTA - in collaboration with its project partners - will lead Canada's first heavy-duty alternative fuel demonstrations. Alberta-based commercial carriers will have the opportunity to test commercial vehicles that operate with alternative, energy-efficient fuels within their regular business operations. This pilot, which operates from late 2022 through 2024, is jointly funded by Natural Resources Canada (NRC) and Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) and will help Canada reach its 2030 net-zero emissions goals. Training and Learning Opportunities
All approved drivers will be required to take hydrogen and commercial vehicle training (at no cost). Additional training opportunities will be available at no cost. Topics will include: alternative fuels, fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), hydrogen benefits, and safe handling of hydrogen.

Privacy and Personal Information and Project Waiver
Privacy and Personal Information Policy: AMTA, acting as the facilitator for the AMTA Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Project helping to bring together the applicant and the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to test zero-emission vehicles in real-world situations, is collecting personal information from the applicant that may contain personal information of the applicant’s employee. AMTA shall only provide personal information provided by the applicant to the OEMs as directed by the applicant, with such information collected only retained by AMTA until the end of the project. The applicant should seek its own legal advice as to the adequacy of its compliance with the relevant privacy legislation of the information provided to AMTA. The applicant waives any right of recourse against AMTA as stipulated in the Waiver below.
Applicant Waiver: The Applicant waives any right of recourse against AMTA for AMTA’s use and disclosure of information pertaining to the Applicant’s organization or business to vehicle manufacturers for the purpose of evaluating the Applicant’s eligibility for the Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program. Unless the Applicant otherwise directs in writing to AMTA, AMTA may only collect or create personal information that is necessary for the Applicant’s participation in the Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program, including without limitation, the drivers’ licences and drivers’ abstracts of the Applicant’s employees. AMTA agrees that it will only use personal information of the Applicant’s employees for the purpose of the Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program, including the subsequent disclosure of such personal information to vehicle manufacturers for the purpose to evaluating the Member’s eligibility for the Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Program. The Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AMTA, its directors and officers, employees, agents, or contractors from and against any and all loss, damage, liability, claim, judgment, cost, or expense of any nature incurred by AMTA in relation to its use or disclosure of the personal information of the Member’s employees.
