• Inclusive Excellence Travel Grant

  • The Center for Inclusive Excellence is committed to supporting the professional development of our learners. We offer travel awards to help you attend conferences or workshops that will enhance your skills and knowledge in areas related to health equity, communities experiencing health disparities, or underrepresentation in medicine.

    Before you begin your application, please gather the following information:

    • Details about the professional development opportunity (conference name, location, dates)
    • An estimated cost breakdown for your registration and/or travel (including airfare, hotel, gas/mileage, etc.)
    • An updated CV

    Additionally, please be prepared to describe in your application:
     

    • The professional development opportunity and its benefits: Explain how attending this opportunity will contribute to your professional development and care goals.
    • Research focus (if applicable): If you are requesting a grant to present your research, provide a brief overview of your research topic.
    • Lived experiences and contributions: Describe how your lived experiences have shaped your perspective on health equity, communities facing health disparities, or underrepresentation in medicine.

    Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to your intended travel date.

    Funds awarded to medical and graduate students will be distributed to the student's bursar account unless that student has reached the maximum financial aid, in that case the grant will be applied to their loan principal.

    Funds awarded to residents and fellows will be processed via check or direct deposit.
