Learning Undefeated and Port of Corpus Christi have partnered to bring a totally new kind of STEM learning experience to Nueces and San Patricio County schools in Texas.
The PORT-Able Learning Lab is a shipping container that introduces students to STEM concepts using immersive reality, light, sound, and touchscreen walls. This program is available FREE to schools and is now scheduling high schools for fall 2024 and elementary and middle schools for spring 2025!
Inside the lab, students will embark on an immersive adventure using computational thinking and the practices of science and engineering to crack a series of puzzles to help the Port of Corpus Christi prepare for a new client site. From the moment they step inside this custom-built shipping container, students experiment with augmented reality, game-based learning, and touchscreen walls, building their critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Please submit this form if you are interested in bringing this program to your school! Scheduling is currently underway.
Schools will be selected for a visit based on:
- Disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution
- A large number of the school's population are eligible for free and reduced meals
- Schools meeting criteria under the Justice40 Initiative
- A brief answer to the question: How will the PORT-Able Learning Lab visit impact your students?
