NO-OBLIVION “Promoting Universal Jurisdiction while Evoking the Crimes Committee in Former Yugoslavia”
  • CALL FOR PAPERS - MEMORY LANE JOURNAL

NO-OBLIVION “Promoting Universal Jurisdiction while Evoking the Crimes Committee in Former Yugoslavia” will look back at the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia through the lens of the ICTY jurisprudence in a twofold effort of 1) ensuring greater awareness for European history and lessons learnt therein and 2) promoting the study of ICL and the mechanism of universal jurisdiction, ultimately laying down the groundwork for redress and accountability to current and future conflicts.

To this effect the project will deploy a holistic and intergenerational two-fold approach: by employing a comprehensive awareness-raising campaign directed at younger generations, and further expanding to the general public; and by setting up the groundwork for increasing the knowledge of justice professionals on Universal Jurisdiction and International Criminal Law.

As part of NO-OBLIVION’s multidimensional activities, the Memory Lane Journal aims to empower younger voices to share their thoughts on the topics addressed by NO-OBLIVION, and to ensure continued attention the need to preserve the memories of the past and contribute to human rights-centred future.
