    SMARTstart is an entrepreneurship learning and development program that helps new entrepreneurs develop business skills. To inquire, please complete the fields below.

    This program is open free of charge to members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community within Bow Valley. The Bow Valley Pride Network is grateful for allies and friends. If you are an ally and wish to be involved this program is still available to you at a nominal non-member fee. If you would like to be involved as a mentor for the program, please reach out to us via email at info@pridenetwork.ca.

    Acceptance into the program is determined by a selection committee.  Applicants may also be invited to an interview.

    You are an NEW OR EXISTING BUSINESS who has been operating less than 3 years.

    To be filled out by applicants who have started their business and are actively working to generate revenue. If you are still in the idea stage and have not started business operations, please go back and check “I am an Entrepreneur with an Idea.”

    The SMARTstart program is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information.  We adhere to the provisions of the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act.

    We collect personal information about you in order to assess your application form and suitability for the SMARTstart program.  Personal information is any information that identifies you as an individual.  It does not include business contact information used for business purposes.

    The SMARTstart program:

    • Will not collect, use or disclose your personal information for any purposes other than those identified to you, subject to exceptions permitted by law;
    • Will make all reasonable efforts to protect the confidentiality of your personal information when doing business internally or externally with other organizations;
    • Will make all reasonable efforts to protect your personal information with appropriate security safeguards;
    • Will make all reasonable efforts to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date;  and
    • Will attempt to honor requests you make for access to your personal information or the corrections of your personal information, subject to exceptions permitted by law.

    Program Commitment

    Successful applicants will be asked to sign a commitment letter agreeing to complete online coursework, attend in-person seminars, work with a mentor and produce a plan within the 6-month program. By submitting this inquiry you are indicating you understand the commitment required to participate in the program and are able to fulfil the program expectations.
