  • Gallery Short-Term Use Agreement

Please review the Gallery Short-Term Agreement for Services, Expectations and Agreements. An Agreement will be routed for signature once dates are confirmed.
  • Services

    1. Rental fee represents use of gallery space, security system, and listing on the Homewood Studios web site. There are no personnel services inferred or provided by this Agreement.
    2. Homewood Studios maintains a website subscriber list. We will post all information about events on our website and will send out e-mail announcements reminders to our subscriber list.
    3. We do not have a budget for creating mailers, postcards, flyers or press releases, nor do we maintain a media contact list.
    4. From time to time, individuals call us for  information about you or your show and related events. We try to answer their questions; however, if necessary, we will forward messages to you.
Our web site [ homewoodstudios.com/sprayfinger.com ] will also receive and distribute messages, (forwarding them to appropriate e-mail addresses), concerning gallery shows, exhibits or events.
    5. General hanging hardware...hooks, wire, hammer, level, etc...are provided at no cost. If your work requires something special for hanging or installing, please bring that along the day you install your show.
    6. We will print wall labels for your work, at no cost. We send you a template which you fill out with the pertinent information. Labels to be printed must be sent back at least three days before your opening to allow enough time for printing.
    7. We maintain regular gallery hours. You will have a key to the building during the time your show is up, so if you wish to have additional hours, you may arrange for gallery attendants.
    8. Homewood Studios maintains a general insurance policy on the building and its contents. Specific coverage for artwork, musical instruments, etc. is the responsibility of the renting party.

    Expectations

    1. The major responsibility for advertising your event rests with you. We maintain an active e-mail network, but the success of your show depends upon you connecting with your networks, getting your friends and supporters to the gallery.
    2. Homewood Studios is located in a residential community. We are committed to remaining a good neighbor. With this commitment in mind, those using the gallery are requested to keep noise at a minimum, especially during evening hours.
    3. Temporary attachments to walls must be made with wall-safe tape (provided).
    4. Because we have experienced two cracked windowpanes resulting from signs and posters taped directly to the glass, any planned signs or posters must be attached to the back of the mullions. (This will allow enough air flow between the glass and the sign to ensure no uneven temperature spots will occur.)  Such signs should be kept to a minimum.
    5. Clean up should occur immediately after your show event(s)event. Kitchen area should be neat and clean: tables and chairs returned to the storage closet, waste and trash bagged, floor swept.
    6. Repair of walls. Spackling of nail holes and repainting of walls should be completed within 48 hours of the end of your show. All materials are provided. If we work together on this, there will be no additional charge. If you wish, Homewood Studios will do this work for a fee of $50 per hour.
    7. Because the City of Minneapolis has initiated a policy of levying heavy fines for false alarms, gallery user (artist or organization) agrees to pay any such fees incurred by their use of the space.
    8. Homewood Studios observes a no smoking policy.

    Agreements

    1. A deposit of $100, to be applied to the rental fee, is required at the time of signing this agreement to hold your place in the calendar. Should the need to cancel occur, a full refund will be honored provided at least one month notice is given. For cancellation less than a month before the opening date, refund will depend on our ability to replace the show with another artist. Should another artist take the spot, a full refund will occur.
    2. Remainder of rental fee is due not later than three days before your show begins.
    3. Homewood Studios charges no commission for work sold. Any income you make from art sales is 100% yours.
    4. Unless special arrangements are made, work not picked up within 30 days of end of show becomes the property of Homewood Studios. It will be sold in our annual Abandoned Art Sale.
