DISNEY'S DESCENDANTS Show Contract 2024

Parents & Students: You must read, understand, and agree to all the information below. This is an agreement between parent/student and STAR Repertory Theatre.

Please check "agreed" on each line, then sign and date at the bottom.

Performers are required to attend all Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday rehearsals (except the ones when your character is not called or the ones listed on your conflict sheet) and will NOT miss any dress rehearsal or performance (Tech Week). Please list all schedule conflicts on the audition form when submitted your audition.*

All new conflicts must be submitted to Meredith Kolod 24 hrs in advance. Meredith will decide whether or not to excuse you. *** You must get permission before your absence or it will be an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences may result in being dropped from the production.*

Having a lot of conflicts may affect the part an actor is given. However, the ultimate decision of casting rests on the Production Staff. List all conflicts and potential conflicts. You may not be needed at all rehearsals or the Production Staff may be willing to work around your conflicts if they are known early on.*

Performers are expected to act respectfully to the Production Staff, fellow cast members and parent helpers. Inappropriate behavior may result in dismissal from the production or can keep performers from involvement in future productions.*

PARENTS - Every family (dad or brother/sister can volunteer instead if mom works) required to put in at least 10 volunteer hours to assist in making this a successful production. Volunteer hours are tracked. A $100 check will be required at the time of AUDITIONS/CALLBACKS, and will be returned after the production if you have logged in your 10 volunteer hours. If you do not log in 10 volunteer hours, your $100 will go towards the production costs instead.*

PARENTS - If you are on a committee with other people, the expectation is that you continue to donate your time until the duties of that committee are fulfilled. Please do not say "I have fulfilled my 10 hours and am done" when there are still hours and hours of work to be done. Doing this forces the rest of your committee to pick up your slack.*

Performers are expected to be on time or early to all rehearsals. 'On time' refers to being dropped off as well as being "picked up'. (5 minutes early is better than 5 minutes late.) Chronic tardiness may affect the amount of responsibility the Production Staff is willing to give a performer.*

PARENTS - Each family is required to sell 15 tickets to this production in order for STAR Repertory Theatre to offset the cost of renting the performance venue, rights, props, costumes, sets/backdrops, musicians, pianist, etc. Payment is due when pre sale tickets go on sale on. Tickets must be purchased through the STAR Rep Ticketing Website for the show(s) they wish to attend no later than 2 weeks prior to tech. Failure to purchase the required 10 tickets will result in being dropped from the production.*

The non refundable tuition fee of $325 (new members); $300 (non members); $275 (members) is required for each performer, and due at auditions. This pays for the offset renting the performance venue, rights, props, costumes, sets/backdrops, musicians, pianist, and other items not in the performance budget. Costumes created for the show are the sole property of STAR Repertory Theatre to be used for future shows, Performers must provide personal items like appropriate shoes, socks, undergarments etc.*

The Production Staff will post weekly updates to the schedule on the Slack or Band App every Sunday or Monday of the rehearsal week. Videos of dances will also be posted on the Slack or Band App. Performers & parents are expected to utilize these tools as well since they are the quickest way to disseminate information.*

It is not possible to give everyone the part they would like all of the time, but please know that every role in a play is important to the success of the show. The Production Staff works hard to choose the best person for the part. It is important to accept whatever role you are assigned without complaining or gossiping. Dropping Play Production after rehearsals have already begun means that others have to scramble to fill in the gaps left by you. It's inconsiderate and difficult on everyone. Please do not waste the Production Staff's time by auditioning if you are not serious about wanting to be involved.*

There are NO excused absences two weeks prior to tech and during tech week (the week in the theatre) unless already given at auditions. If you have a conflict during tech week, and did not clear it first, your role will be given to someone elsc.*
