If you're a writer under 14 years old who has created an original monster character, we want to see it! Create your character using the New Monster Certificate available on our site and write a short story in response to the following prompt: While your monster is in the middle of their favorite activity (which can be anything from picking berries to eating puppies), they’re interrupted by a monster-hunter waving a magical monster-snatching butterfly net. Then submit your creations by December 31st, 2025, for a chance to have your monster turned into a custom plushie.

• My child's writing, art, and/or other creations may be shared on the Cosmic Writers social media, website, newsletter, and/or other materials, along with my child's first name and last initial. My child will retain full intellectual copyright to the content.

• If my child is selected as the winner of the Monster-Building Contest, I will provide shipping information to send the custom plushie, and photos of my child with said plushie. I provide my consent for these photos to be shared on all Cosmic Writers distribution platforms.
