We use this form to not only make sure we place our pups in good homes but to make sure we find the right puppy match for you. These questions are not to disqualify you but to match the right puppy temperament with your family.

  • If you are buying a pet only puppy/dog from me. All of my puppies will come without registration unless requested by the buyer in writting before the puppy turns 6 weeks old.

    Buyer understand that the registration will be provided to them after proof of spay/neuter is provided and I confirm the documents with their veterinarian.

    Please note pet sales: All Pet puppies are sold on spay or neuter contract. All our pet puppies will be sold under the conditions as a pet only and will not be provided AKC paperwork unless requested prior to the puppy turning 6 weeks old and proof of spay/neuter is provided. Only then I will provide AKC papers to buyers.

    “Pet sales only” is our way to ensure that you are an owner of your word and you have stood good to the contract you signed and had agreed to have your pet spayed or neutered to prevent pet overpopulation.

    HOWEVER, if for some reason you have an accidental litter, or you go against the spay or neuter agreement you acknowledge that any puppies born as a result become unregistrable and will not be eligible for AKC registration.

  • ~Waiting list deposit and current available deposit information~

  • To be placed on our waiting list for upcoming litters or to hold a currently available puppy, a $200.00 non-refundable deposit must be sent in with the completion of this puppy application and required documents.

    The $200.00 deposit goes towards processing of this application, and also ensures your place on our paid waiting list and or hold the available puppy. If in the process while we are going over your application, we are forced to deny you, your deposit will be refunded to you in full, once you are accepted and placed on the waiting list, your refund however is non-refundable.

    We will not refund deposits if you change your mind under any circumstances, so please make sure you are committed before sending this document to us.

    The $200.00 is not refundable, but it is however, transferable. If a puppy you were looking for didn’t come from a waiting list you were on, your deposit ensures you, that you will be placed on the next list of expecting puppies of your choice if the sex or color of the puppy you’re looking for isn’t born yet and you want or decide.

    Deposit will be forfeited if you place a puppy on hold for more than 72 hours or at the 6 weeks old mark of the puppy which ever comes 1st and you decide not to take said puppy home. Deposits are valid for 24 months from the date you placed the deposit and application

  • 1 year Wellness Coverage against life threatening testable congenital conditions that keeps the dog from being a pet (Until the puppy/dog is 12 month of age) 

    Wellness Coverage is not valid for adult over the 12 months of age.

  • Wellness Coverage

  • * Dachshund Universe/Maureen Quinones offer a 1-year Wellness Coverage against life threatening testable congenital conditions that keeps the dog from being a pet.

    * If your puppy has a genetic issue that keeps him from being a pet, I will exchange the puppy for a new one when one comes available. Buyer is obligated to return the original puppy at their expenses in order to exchange it for a new one.

    * This wellness coverage doesn’t include Environmentally induced issues, parasites, Patella and Back issues as this are issues that are usually self-inflicted by their environment. (exposing the puppy to new areas/grounds, jumping, excessive running, rough playing, puppy falling and such)

    *** Initial veterinarian visit. I require buyers to take their puppies to the veterinarian of their choice within 72 hours of pick up. This ensures the puppy is healthy to buyer standards and that my Veterinarian didn’t miss anything. Failure to do this will forfeit Dachshund Universe wellness coverage. 

    *** In the event that in the initial veterinarian visit, the veterinarian were to find a health issue that deems the puppy as unhealthy and not up to buyer standards, buyer will be required to return the puppy with in 24hrs from the veterinarian visit. Failure to do this buyer/owner will release Dachshund Universe/Maureen Quinones from any responsibility towards the wellness coverage. 

    *** Dachshund Universe/Maureen Quinones will not be responsible for any cost’s buyer/puppy owner may incur associated with veterinarian bills, medications, or care at any given time, and under any circumstances. Buyer understands that all expenses associated with the care medical or any other expenses is solely their responsibility at all times. All cost incurred by the puppy buyer will not be refunded under any circumstances, for any reason, conditions or diseases.

    *** Buyer understands that there will be NO refunds of any kind. Buyer will not be refunded for cost associated with veterinarian visits incurred by the puppy owner/buyer, nor will receive full or partial refund from the cost of the puppy. This includes if the puppy were to be return or to pass away.

    *** If buyer were to decide to spay/neuter their puppy before he/she turns 12 months old this wellness coverage will be voided. Puppies need their growth hormones to build their immune system, build good strong structures and muscles. Early spay/neuter can cause health issues to said puppy, for that reason if done prior 12 months old buyer will forfeit the wellness coverage Dachshund Universe is providing.

    *Application and deposit must be received at the same time. No application will be reviewed without deposit and no deposit will be taken without the application.

    Once I get your application and process it, we may contact you for an over the phone interview. Before the interview, I will have already called your vet contacts and references, so PLEASE be honest in your answers. Anyone caught in anything dishonest will automatically be denied a puppy.


    Please note: Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. The only time deposits are refunded is when we deny your application, ONLY then will your money be sent back to you via mail to the address listed on this application only. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable to another litter of your choosing once your application has been accepted. We reserve the right to deny the sale of a puppy to you at any time for acts of dishonestly, harassment, or Defamation of character. Once you are approved and your application is accepted and your placed on the waiting list,

  • ~Local buyers (Colorado): Cash is requested as final payment.

    *Out of State buyers picking up their puppies in person: Cash is requested as final payment. If paying electronically (card, wire transfer, zelle) payment is required 2 weeks the puppy turns 8 weeks old or 2 weeks prior transportation/ or pick up. Depending on the age of the puppy atthe time of placing the application and deposit.

    *Out of State buyers with transportation needs: We require that all puppies are paid in full 2 weeks before your puppy turns 8 weeks old. Electronic payment schedule will be sent out after puppies are matched with each application.

  • ~Transportation information~ (Pick up always preferred and encouraged)

  • *Transportation with in the lower 48 and Puerto Rico is with Pet Nanny only.

    *Outside the lower 48 Pet Nanny and Cargo (Only for dogs/puppies over the age of 6 months old), but Pet Nanny preferred when available and will be booked according breeder preference given what’s in the best interest of the puppy. International buyers Cargo and Pet Nanny when available.

    ***All of my puppies will travel with a Pet Nanny as this is the best for the puppies. Cost of this service can range between $950 and $1,800 depending on your location ( this is an approximate cost cab be lower or higher). Puppies are delivered to the nearest airport to you that the Nanny has access to, in some occasion you will be required to drive a few hours so keep that in mind.

    *Cargo cost: rates are different given location.

  • We strive to keep everything fair for everyone, once a puppy has become available and you’re offered one, please get back to us on your decision whether to accept or decline in a timely manner. Waiting more than 24 hours for an answer is unacceptable when you have been on a waiting list committed to take on this reasonability. If you cannot make your mind up in a timely manner, or we leave messages without them being returned it could mean you lose your place in line or you are getting kicked off our waiting list entitled to no refund. 

    Please take a moment to make sure you filled out the whole application. Any pages missing, or information missing will be an automatic deny of the application and result in your application being returned with your deposit.

    Thank you for Spending your time filling out our application, this is just another way we can assure that our puppies are going to forever loving homes with responsible owners. We strive to become a part of the solution and not a part of the problem of dog overpopulation, and if you’re not going to be a responsible breeder, how on earth do you expect to find responsible owners.

  • 1} Check out our expecting mom’s and dad’s and decide which list you would be most interested in


    2} If we are not expecting what you’re looking for but want to be placed on the list for future litters, please complete this application anyhow, and return with your deposit to ensure your spot in line for a future litter. Our list’s fill up fast so if you’re interested, please don’t delay in returning your application


    3} Once puppies become available and you are next on the list, you will be contacted accordingly, about your place in line. Never assume if you are lower down on the list, your chances of a current litter are out of the questions, things in people’s lives change, and so do their circumstances. So please be mindful of that. So be mindful you could get a call about puppies sooner than you think.


    4} Once a puppy has been picked out by you, we encourage visits with your new friend and keeping in touch in the weeks to come till your puppy ready to go home. You can visit weekly if you like, or bi-weekly, whichever you prefer. You also can take pictures during your visits; we encourage all of that.


    5} Take your puppy home no earlier than 8 weeks. Per Colorado law, Puppies need to be at least 8 weeks of age to leave the breeders home, not to mention valuable time with their mothers is so important in the development of all their skills as a dog, Both social and developmental


    6} Puppies who are not picked up by 8 weeks of age, there will be a $95.00 dollar a week charge extra for caring and feeding your puppy. That charge will be added to your final payment along with any extra veterinarian care expenses when you pick up your puppy so, please be mindful of that. Weekly rate will NOT be prorated under any circumstances.


    7} We do REQUIRE all families to sign and agree to a lifetime return contract on each puppy. This means that for any unforeseen reason you might have to give up or rehome the dog, you agree to contact and return it to Dachshund universe (Maureen Quinones). You MAY NOT rehome the dog yourself and no refund will be given by Dachshund Universe (Maureen Quinones). Dachshund Universe (Maureen Quinones) must be contacted and be part of any re-homing decision or will take the dog back no questions asked.

    8} *** Dachshund Universe/Maureen Quinones will not be responsible for any veterinary cost incurred by the puppy buyer under any cirmcustances, for any reason, conditions or deseases.

    *** Buyer understands that there will be NO refunds of any kind. Buyer will not be refunded for cost associated with veterinarian visits incurred by the puppy owner/buyer, nor will recieve full or partial refund from the cost of the puppy. This includes if the puppy were to be return or to pass away. Please review Dachshund Universe Wellness Coverage. 

    9} We take pride in keeping in contact with our puppy families and providing breeder support whenever we can! Please make sure you keep us up to date if any of your address/ phone/ email information changes.
