    Fine Arts Competition
  • Maryland Association of Christian School (MACS) Fine Arts Festival offerings:

Harford Christian School will be participating in the Maryland Association of Christian Schools (MACS) Fine Arts competition on March 14, 2025. Students in the HCS Choir, band, and the Chamber Singers will be competing.

There are other opportunities that day for students who wish to compete. Junior and Senior high students may compete in Bible teaching, Bible Memory, Vocal solo, Vocal Ensemble, Brass solo, Woodwind solo, String solo, Sacred piano solo, Classical piano solo, Dramatic interpretation, Oral Interpretation of Poetry, Religious Reading, Declamation, Humorous Interpretation, and Oral Interpretation of Scripture.

Students who would like to compete in any type of music competition must participate in our In-School runoffs which are scheduled on February 13, 2025. At that time their piece must be memorized and polished. We are limited to the number of contestants that we are allowed to send in each category, so there is a chance that some who perform at the runoffs may not qualify to go on to the MACS Fine Arts competition on March 14th . If your child is interested in any of these music events, you must sign up using this form by
October 25, 2024. The Fine Arts director will then contact you regarding the details of your competition registration.

All vocal music for competition (solo or group) must be pre-approved by a MACS Vocal Approval Committee and music must be submitted for approval no later than November 1, 2024.

Each student is permitted to participate in as many as 6 live events (Bible, Speech , or Music), and only 3 of those events may be solo/individual events.  All 6 could be group events, but 3 is the maximum number of solo/individual events allowed per student.

Further questions can be sent to rpeters@harfordchristian.org, but students must us this form to officially sign-up for the MACS competitions.
