The Maricopa County Medical Society is proud to present the Healthcare Leadership Excellence Award, recognizing an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication in advancing healthcare delivery, supporting physicians, and improving patient outcomes.
This award honors leaders who have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the healthcare system through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. The recipient exemplifies integrity, forward-thinking leadership, and a strong commitment to strengthening the healthcare community.
Nominations will be accepted from May 1st through August 1st. Each candidate is carefully assessed to determine the degree to which they fulfills each of the requirements according to the criteria established. Announcements will be made on August 30, 2026.
The criteria for the Healthcare Leadership Excellence Award are as follows:
1. Exhibits leadership in championing philanthropy, advocating for social change, and raising awareness about critical issues to inspire action and drive positive impact;
2. Demonstrates outstanding generosity through charitable giving, volunteerism, or philanthropic initiatives that significantly benefit individuals, communities, or causes;
3. Engages with physicians, medical associations, and healthcare professionals to listen to their concerns, gather input, and involve them in decision-making processes related to healthcare policies and programs;
4. Demonstrates a commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring that patients' needs, preferences, and values are central to all aspects of care delivery;
5. Engages with the community through outreach initiatives, health education programs, and partnerships to address local health needs and promote wellness;
6.Fosters a positive work environment that values and supports healthcare professionals, promoting staff satisfaction, engagement, and professional growth;
7. Demonstrates strong leadership and advocacy on physician issues, prioritizing public health, and championing policies and programs that address systemic healthcare challenges and improve healthcare access.
