Explore nature with your homeschool student at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. Our Homeschool Day offers school-age children the opportunity to participate in self-guided learning activities at various stations throughout the Gardens. Your child can discover wildlife, experiment with science, create nature art, and explore botany.
Price $5 per participating child, plus admission or membership for everyone.
Learning Stations Include:
Life in the Pond – Explore life in the pond by using dip nets to catch tadpoles, small fish, and more!
Rocking Reptiles – Meet two of our live Education Animals!
Bee Keeping Demonstration Table – Try on Bee Keeper Clothes and Explore the Life of a Honey Bee.
Nature Art – Create art with natural materials!
Rock Science – Learn to identify rocks and minerals!
Seed Design Challenge – Create your own a traveling seed!
Wildlife Touch Table – Learn about native wildlife with shells, scales, feathers, nests and more!
Homeschool Day is recommended for children ages 5-11 (Kindergarten to 5th grade). Program includes price of admission for the child and participation in a dozen learning station activities. Preregistration is very much appreciated, but drop-ins are welcome as well! $5 per participating child plus admission or membership for everyone.
