  • Reclaiming the Voices of Addiction- Patient Story Project

  • Thank you for taking the time to share your story. Our goal at Doctors for America is to reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorders and improve access to medical care and treatment.

Your story will be used to help create a culture of openness and understanding that anyone can suffer from an addiction. We want to share stories that will remind physicians of the role they can play in helping patients recover from this disease.

You have the option to keep your story anonymous, you can choose to share your name, or you can create a video. Every story matters so we appreciate your participation.

If you would like to participate, please answer the following prompt with a paragraph of text, or a 1-2 minute video.

“What I wish my doctor knew about my addiction.”

For this project we are hoping to collect responses from people with an alcohol or other substance use disorder. But please share your experience if you experienced another type of addiction.

    Thank you for your participation.
