Personal Needs Allowance - Tell Your Story
The Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) in New York has been stuck at $50 per month for over three decades. The PNA is the only monthly allowance that residents on Medicaid receive for all of their personal expenses. $50 falls far short of meeting the basic personal expenses of residents such as haircuts, cards, reading materials, and other personal needs that enhance quality of life.
New York State must increase the PNA and under federal law has the authority to do so up to $200 per month.
