    Compliance & Enforcement Department

    The Department of Compliance and Enforcement is responsible for coordinating the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes, issuing permits for approved projects, monitoring compliance and conducts concession overlaps. The department also recommends and leads in the development of environmental regulations guidelines and standards in collaboration with the ERRS Unit as well as the department of Planning and Policy. The Department also provides guidance for conservation and sustainable natural resources management. It is headed by a manager and supported by six assistant managers. The department is responsible to work with the department of Planning and Policy in developing a report on the Status of the Environmental every five (5) years, and a National Environmental Action Plan.
