Design the Winter 2025-2026 Issue Cover

The Winter 2026 issue will explore Songs Without Words, and we are inviting our Piano Inspires Kids readers to design the cover! The genre “songs without words” refers to music with a clear singable melody and an accompaniment that paints the mood of the music. Composers like Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn from the 19th century are known for such works. While songs without words don’t have lyrics, they are expressive and require the pianist to “sing” out the melody like a vocalist, but from the keyboard. Show us how music and piano inspire you with your pictures and graphic designs.

Submissions must be received by 11:59 Pacific, November 1, 2025.

Submissions will be judged based on creativity and originality.

Entries:

Must be hand drawn or created using graphic design software, solely owned by the student.
Must not be generated through artificial intelligence.
Must not contain images or text that are discriminatory or defamatory.
Must not contain trademarked materials or intellectual property.
Once received are the property of Piano Inspires Kids and can be used, modified, published, and displayed at the discretion of the publication, in print and online. No compensation will be given for any submission.
Must be submitted as a high resolution pdf or jpg file, 300 DPI preferred.

The magazine reserves the right to select one winner, more than one winner, or no winner.

The judges’ decisions are final.
