  • Hear ye! Hear ye! Tis time for those with a stout heart and a will forged from copper ore to compete in a contest of strength and valour! The Queen of Pastyland seeketh knights from across the globe to pulleth a large object in a quest of glory and Keweenaw cash. 

     

    Join us for the 3rd Annual Pasty Pull Competition! We're challenging the Copper County's strongest to harness pure pasty power to pull a 2016 Chevy Silverado as fast as they can down a street in Historic Calumet.  Wow the crowd during the 21st Annual Pasty Fest and take home the prize and win eternal glory.

    The Competition

    It's you versus a truck (or maybe a wagon loaded with potatoes...who knows?). Contestants are harnessed to the front of a vehicle using a towstrap. You've got 5 minutes to get those legs churning to pull it down the 100-ft track in Downtown Calumet. 

    The Prize

    The purse is $300 in Keweenaw Cash. Winner-take-all. Fastest pull across the finish line wins the prize.

  • Liability Waiver

  • In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Pasty Pull Competition, related events and activities, the registered participant acknowledges and commits to the following:

    Acknowledgment of Risk: I recognize and understand that there are risks and dangers associated with participation in the event and related activities that could cause severe bodily injury, disability and death. Further, the risks and dangers may be caused by the negligent actions or negligent failure to act of the organizers and others.


    Assumption of Risk: I assume all risks, both known and unknown, whether caused or alleged to be caused by the negligent acts or omissions of the organizers, their officers, members, employees, agents, and event sponsors, as well as their event volunteers, and other participants.

    Release of Liability: I release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Visit Keweenaw and/or Main Street Calumet, affiliated clubs, their respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, employees, and other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of the premises on which the activity takes place (collectively, "Releasees"), from any and all liability, claim, demand, loss, or damages on the participant's account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations.
    Indemnification: Agree to indemnify, save, and hold harmless the Releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost that may incur due to the presence of the undersigned in or upon the area or in any way competing, officiating, observing, or working for, or for any purpose participating in the event and related activities.


    Acknowledgement of Understanding: Acknowledge that I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature, and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
    This agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the state where the event takes place. If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

  • Should be Empty:
