PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS
Please note that the registration deadline for the parade is August 31, 2024. Applications after this date will be placed in the back of the parade (if space is available) and are not eligible for judging. We will email you confirmation once your application has been approved within one (1) week of receipt. We will also send correspondence with additional details regarding the parade line-up no later than September 3, 2024.
1. No throwing of candy or other items from any moving vehicle candy must be handed to the spectators or tossed onto the sidewalks by walkers
2. You will receive your line up position from our check-in stand In front of the Quincy Public Library 208 Central Ave S. A parade person will direct you in the correct street.
3. Entries must furnish drivers for their floats, if in view drivers must be appropriately attired. Drivers must remain with the float from the time of judging until the parade is dispersed.
4. All participants must be dressed in appropriate clothing (as determined by the FCAD committee) This is a family friendly event. No vulger, sexual, or explicit items of any kind.
5. For equestrian enters, no stallions unless approved by the committee, each rider or group must provide their own cleanup unit. Only one rider per horse allowed. Any rider showing inability to control his/er animal will be deemed unsafe and will be removed from the parade.
6. Any group that is disruptive, verbally or physically will not be allowed down the parade route and will be asked to leave immediately. Quincy FACD official and law enforcement officers reserve the right to remove any unit nor conforming to the rules or other laws pertaining to the safety of others.
7. Line up Times
8:45am – Check in and line up
9:30am – Awards given out
10:00am – Parade begins
All awards will given out at the start of the parade or before the parade starts. Anyone NOT wishing to be judged may sign in between the hours of 9:00am and 9:30am. Please be ready at 9:45am for the parade
8. The parade will travel down Central Avenue, left on E Street to 2nd Avenue SE, left to C Street SE, right to 4th avenue SE (Ancient Lakes Elementary School), left to Division. Once you have reached Division you may disperse right to the festival grounds or left, back to the staging area. Walkers and children may stop at Ancient Lake Elementary School to meet parents. Chaperons are responsible to make sure all children are returned to parents or guardians.
