Volunteer Code of Conduct Total Warrior events could not happen without the support of volunteers. In order to look after you and our participants, it’s important to have a code of contact for both staff and volunteers. Below is a set of guidelines that we ask everyone to agree to: - Represent Total Warrior in a professional manner, showing respect to fellow volunteers, staff and members of the public. - Do not physically assist participants to overcome obstacles, words of encouragement go a long way! - Work in a manner that reflects the inclusive nature of TW in an ethos of care and support. - Have an awareness of the young people and vulnerable adults on site, ensuring an environment of safety and respect. - Avoid insensitive or offensive language. - Sign in at the volunteer tent and also sign out, so that the TW staff know that you are no longer on site or on duty. - Obstacles are for participants only and shouldn’t be climbed on or used by volunteers. - Zone Managers (both on and off course) allocate volunteers to specific obstacles/areas. Volunteers should not leave these locations without first letting their Zone Manager know. - Smoking/Vaping is NOT permitted in any covered areas such as marquees. Please smoke at a reasonable distance from others. - The possession of alcohol, illegal drugs or weapons is strictly prohibited.- Drinking alcohol while volunteering is not permitted. Volunteers receive a free beer at the end of the shift and are welcome to visit the TW bar but only when their volunteer shift has finished. - If you are unable to make it to the event or are running late, please contact us to let us know. By submitting your volunteer form you are agreeing to the above code and understand that if the code is breeched, TW staff reserve the right to ask you to leave site.
