Cape Fear Botanical Garden preschool programs engage and excite young learners through storytimes, hands-on learning projects, and outdoor explorations. Encourage your child's love of nature, art, and science with themed programs designed especially for our youngest garden explorers.
Ages 2-5 with a parent or guardian. Siblings are welcome to accompany, but must be included on the registration form.
Come dressed to explore outside. There are two back-to-back one-hour sessions of this class. The same class is offered twice to accommodate more kids. This season for the first time we are offering select Spanish Language sessions of preschool. Both native Spanish and native English speakers are totally welcome to come enjoy a fun preschool program conducted in Spanish.

Location: Please check in with the Gift Shop for class location. Preschool may meet in our classroom or our Children's Garden Pavilion.
Fees: $15 per child, $5 for members. Fee includes preschool class activities plus Garden admission for one adult and the child. Children younger than 1 may accompany an older sibling at no extra cost.
FULL! Nov. 7th Preschool: Marvelous Mushrooms 10am and 11am sessions
Mushrooms are amazing, colorful, and fascinating. In this class, preschoolers and their grown-ups will explore the Garden, discover the parts of mushrooms, and build their own playdough mushrooms to take home.
FULL! Nov. 21st Preschool: Spring Bulbs 10am session
It’s time to plant spring bulbs already! Through interactive storytelling and hands-on activities, children will discover the secrets hidden beneath the soil and plant their very own bulb to watch grow. Get ready to sow the seeds of curiosity.
FULL! Dec. 18th Preschool: Treats for the Birds 10am and 11am sessions
Preschoolers will discover the joy of giving back by creating delightful treats for the birds. Through engaging storytelling children will learn about the importance of bird conservation and how they can help care for our feathered neighbors during the chilly winter months.
