• Please complete at least one week prior to the planned absence.

  • I am requesting a planned absence for my Lower School student.

Per the attendance policy in the Lower School Student/Parent Handbook, I  understand:

    1. The school will determine if an absence is considered excused or unexcused. Absences that are a) medical in nature, b) funerary, c) matrimonial, or d) otherwise significant events will be deemed excused. All other absences will be considered unexcused. The final decision is at the administration’s discretion.
    2. An excused absence allows the student, within a reasonable amount of time, to make up missed work, without penalty, with the cooperation of all teachers involved. It is the responsibility of the parent to contact the child’s teacher to coordinate make-up work.
    3. Students will not be excused the day before or the day after a vacation period, except in the case of severe illness or emergency with a doctor’s note or other documentation. If a student leaves early or returns late from vacation time without special permission from the administration, the absence will be considered unexcused.

Any absence not excused by the administration shall be considered unexcused.
