Climate Defiance is hiring a content creator to lead on managing our social media platforms. We have reached over 80,000,000 organic impressions on our social media channels and are looking to hire an awesome content creator to bring us up to the next level.
Location:
Any location in the U.S. works, although we have a slight preference for candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to a major metropolitan area.
About You:
You are a collaborative and empathetic leader, deeply invested in team building. Your adeptness in team development is bolstered by your robust communication and organizational proficiencies. Committed to social change, you champion racial, economic, and environmental justice. As a self-starter, you excel in executing, implementing, and troubleshooting without excessive oversight. Your convictions align with the principles of nonviolent confrontation, direct action, and disruption.
You are an awesome content creator. You have a proven track record of reaching millions on social media through content that is some combination of witty, sharp, angry, or creative.
Qualifications:
- Professional Experience: Experience creating compelling content for progressive causes. We are looking for a candidate who has reached millions on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok or other platforms. We seek someone with a proven track record of creating videos and posts that help shape the national discourse, move the public and change the terms of the debate. Prior paid work experience is not a prerequisite but prior experience creating viral content is an absolute must-have.
- Willingness to Travel: Flexibility and readiness to engage in extensive travel for actions and site visits.
Pay & Benefits
Salary: $62,400 annually for full time, $31,200 for half-time (Note: Our organization adheres to a flat pay scale, ensuring equal compensation for all members. Stated otherwise, everyone has the same salary here.)
Vacation: Full-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid vacation each year.
Holiday Leave: Climate Defiance observes 8 paid holidays throughout the course of the year. Additionally, our operations are closed between Christmas Eve and New Years Day each year and the day following Thanksgiving.
Additional Leave: Each full-time employee is eligible for 5 sick days and 2 personal days.
